Metalsistem’s ‘Super 6’ multi-tiered mezzanine, which incorporates a ‘Super 123’ boltless shelving construction, provides an extra 1,500 square metres of raised storage area in warehouses.
The ‘Super 6’ mezzanine floor can be erected over existing structures, meaning it can also be extended along with customers’ future increased resource demands in line with growth and expansion plans.
The ‘Super 123’ is a modular, high load-bearing and easy-to-assemble boltless shelving system, ideal for light to medium products.
In order to achieve the required high load specification in mezzanine structures, Metalsistem’s engineers designed the upright sections of the frame with a closed box-section profile in contrast to the traditional ‘C’-section favoured by competitive suppliers. The box is considered to be a safer option as it has the ability to sustain higher loads.
By using a closed box-section design in the uprights, eight horizontal support beams can be safely attached to the vertical faces. This was achieved by enabling two beams on each face of the upright to be attached, providing a safe framework to support the new floor above by using columns, instead of frames as with traditional pallet racking systems, which allows the creation of wider spans below the structure.
Third-party logistics company Fastline recently installed Metalsistem’s ‘Super 6’ multi-tiered mezzanine pallet racking system.
