  • Published: 05/01/2010

Arygon, sister company to leading identification technology company Multicard Australia, formerly Fastcards, has launched a customisable and best-in-class High-Speed NFC Reader Platform for authenticating, reading and writing all Mifare and FeliCa family transponders.

The strong partnership between Arygon and Multicard Australia enables a strong offering of innovative solutions to Australian customers.

According to Mr Scott Austin, President of Multicard Australia, the new High-Speed NFC Reader is easy to integrate and maintain, while being field-upgradable and therefore future-proof.

"The technology also supports a wide variety of ISO 14443, NFC Tag Type 1-4 Transponders and Microcontroller Cards such as JCOP — and optionally Contact Card ISO 7816 support,” Austin says.

The Arygon NFC reader is a highly customisable Hardware and Firmware platform, optionally offering Contact Card and SAM slots, custom PCB sizes and host interfaces (USB, UART, RS232 etc.) as well as environment-specific antenna designs or application-compliant firmware solutions for various EEPROM sizes (64kB up to 512kB).

Additionally it provides ease of integration with customer applications, by including with it. PC/SC drivers, API´s, sample script files and comprehensive test tools.

“The highly flexible ARYGON High-Speed NFC Reader Platform meets nearly all future requirements of market-specific cost, feature (speed, security, interoperability etc), standard and application needs, while additionally being future-proof with its field-upgradable firmware functionality,” Mr Austin says.

“It offers OEM RFID providers the opportunity to grow with their evolving customer infrastructure and application needs, for example it already complies with all major existing payment infrastructures and card standards offering full interoperability.

"The technology offers sufficient reserves to implement future system enhancements in regard to higher security and NFC usage without exchanging reader infrastructure.

"This will save costs for servicing, upgrading and maintaining RFID reader infrastructures,” he says.

The new ARYGON High-Speed NFC Reader family is highly flexible and based on a high-performance ARM processor, giving high-speed de-/encryption and the fastest data response times between system and transponder in the market.

This means the new ARYGON reader is ideally suited for Payment, Point of Sales, Public Transport, Ticketing, Secure ID, PKI, Mobile and NFC applications.
