Work Safe Week is being held from 27-31 October and it’s the perfect opportunity for you to get up to date with the latest information on health and safety in the workplace.
Whether you’re a small, medium or large business, an office worker or labourer, an apprentice or manager, you could work in a milkbar or a multinational, Work Safe Week is for all Victorian businesses and it’s the fastest and easiest way to make sure you’re up to date and compliant.
Last year over 8000 people showed their commitment to improving workplace safety by attending the Work Safe Week seminars and events that were held across the state.
To top off a successful week, over 900 guests attended the 19th Annual WorkSafe Victoria Awards to cheer the nominees and dance the night away.
This year 120 seminars and events are being held across Melbourne and regional Victoria, and you’ll find them more practical and hands on than ever.
From conferences, educational seminars and panel discussions to interactive workshops, displays, breakfasts and BBQ’s, there’s something for everyone.
Throughout the week, you’ll hear from WorkSafe and other industry experts on a broad range of safety related topics, everything from the new construction regulations and new dangerous goods code to manual handling, young workers, work related stress and fatigue, and health and well-being.
Some of our guest speakers this year will be travelling to the far corners of the state to spread the safety message.
Ron Barassi is heading to Wangaratta, Rodney Eade (Western Bulldogs Coach) to Warrnambool and Wayne Campbell (Western Bulldogs Assistant Coach) to Colac.
One of our inspirational Safety Ambassadors, David Holland, will also be speaking at the Colac seminar.
In Melbourne, you’ll find Nikki Ellis (ABC1’s Stressbusting) and all the way from Canada, Lisa Scott (Principal, Organisational Solutions).
There are seminars on WorkSafe’s new WorkHealth initiative as well as seminars from VECCI, AiGroup, Minerals Council of Australia, Gallagher Bassett, Cambridge Integrated Services Victoria, Allianz, QBE Insurance Group, CGU Insurance and GIO Insurance.
