More than 400 exhibitors are expected at this year’s intralogistics trade exhibition CeMAT Asia.

The exhibition, which will be stretch across 25,000 square metres of exhibition space, will include demonstrations of innovative products for the technical optimisation of logistics processes, including industrial trucks, cranes and hoisting equipment, conveyor systems, warehousing and storage systems, loading and unloading equipment, software and materials handling accessories.

CeMAT Asia will also feature a supporting program of intralogistics-themed conferences. The highlight will be the International Conference on ICT Solutions and Products for Materials Handling and Logistics, where international experts will discuss new directions, trends and opportunities in intelligent logistics IT solutions.

Joachim Hänel, chief executive officer of sales at Hänel GmbH and Co. KG, said CeMAT was the number one intralogistics tradeshow in the Asia.

Hänel GmbH and Co. KG, which has been an exhibitor at CeMAT Asia since 2002, will be presenting its Rotomat industrial order-picking carousel and LeanLift vertical storage and materials handling system at this year’s show.

"Via our sales partners we've had a presence in this fast-growing region of the world for many years and anticipate further strong growth, particularly in China,” Hänel said.

Last year, China imported about US $3,696 billion (~AU $3.5 billion) worth of materials handling machinery, an increase of 16.1 per cent over 2009, according to the China Machinery Industry Federation. This included a 90.5 per cent increase in imports of packaging machinery, pushing the total volume of the segment to US $1,556 billion (~(AU $1.5 billion)

The Chinese market is growing steadily, with the machinery segment alone forecast to grow by about 12 per cent on average every year until 2015. In the first quarter of 2011 investment in the transport sector soared 27.6 per cent to RMB 395.8 billion (~AU $ 59.1 billion).

"This positive overall development will be very much in evidence at this year's tradeshows,” said Wolfgang Pech, the senior vice president of Deutsche Messe's foreign trade fair business.

“Our visitor analyses show that CeMAT Asia reaches the right target groups. For example, some two-thirds of our visitors are senior managers responsible for making or preparing capital investment decisions.”

CeMat Asia will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in China from the 25 to 28 October 2011.

CeMAT Asia will be co-located with PTC ASIA, a trade show for power transmission and control technology.
